The Griffin Police Department (GPD) responded to the area of Searcy Avenue and Jackson Road Wednesday at around 9 p.m. in reference to an overturned vehicle.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a red 1996 Dodge Neon in the roadway and determined — based on the physical evidence at the scene — that the vehicle had struck a utility pole and overturned, according to a GPD incident report.

Since police officers couldn’t locate the driver of the vehicle, they ran the vehicle’s tag and learned that it belonged to 52-year-old Timothy Harrison, of Griffin. After overseeing the vehicle being towed from the scene and advising Griffin Power of the damage to the utility pole, officers went to Harrison’s residence on Crescent Avenue.
