Kiwanianne Club of Griffin. Will be accepting needlework for the needlework booth at the Spalding County Fair (Oct. 4-13). Bring items to the needlework building at the fairgrounds on South Hill Street on Sept. 17 from 9 to 11 a.m., Sept. 18 from 3 to 5 p.m., and Sept. 19 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Griffin Historical Consortium. This is a new group of Spalding County residents interested in compiling information about black history in Spalding County. Interested persons are invited to join. Chappell are invited. It will be a covered-dish lunch and everyone is asked to bring at least one of their favorite desserts.
