The Griffin Police Department has for the fourth time now been certified by the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police State Certification Commission.

Police Chief Frank Strickland said this state certification is the fourth award for the department and “will take us through 2015.”

Strickland and the City Commission recognized Certification Manager Eddie Bogan for the achievement of re-certification. Strickland said the Griffin Police Department is one of only 100 agencies statewide to achieve the certification.

“This status proves the commitment to the community and to officer safety,”he said.
