palding County will be replacing the leaky roof at the Fairmont Recreation Center.

County Manger William Wilson Jr. told the county commissioners the roof has been repeatedly patched at a cost of $10,000 to $15,000 but the patches kept failing. The project is not budgeted and Commission Chairman Gwen Flowers-Taylor requested it be brought before the board for special consideration.

Wilson recommended the money be taken out of the capital projects general fund, which is set aside for non-budgeted repairs.

“I believe this is an excellent use for this fund,” Wilson said.
