Officer Dawn Storm proceeded to check the area and observed 26-year-old Jarvis Cortez Bibbs of 509 North 8th St., lying on the ground on North 8th Street just north of West Tinsley Street. The victim appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound.
Bibbs was transported by air ambulance to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment and expired Saturday night at approximately 10 p.m. Griffin Police investigators are awaiting autopsy results and further information will be released as it becomes available.
