The Griffin Christian Lady Crusaders volleyball team finished out their last regular-season home match in style, sweeping Lafayette Christian 25-13 and 25-13 Tuesday evening to go undefeated in GISA Region 3-AA play at 5-0.

GC, the Region 3-AA champs who’ve improved to 23-2 overall, is off until road matches against Oak Mountain (Oct. 16) and Heirway (Oct. 19) before hosting matches in the GISA state volleyball tournament.

“It was a great win for the girls,” said GC coach Melanie Foster. “They asked us to play the best-of-three so they could be consistent with the tri-matches they have played. Our girls did a nice job overall and it was great to win our last regular-season match at home for the year.”

Griffin Christian is still ranked third in GISA Class AA and has only lost one game since their loss to Calvary Christian on Oct. 2 at home. In fact, the Lady Crusaders have only lost four games total since the first loss to GISA Class AAA Calvary Christian at their place on Sept. 20.
