Just at the beginning of this month, the shelves at the Salvation Army’s food pantry were completely empty. They are empty no more.

Thanks to donation by the Griffin Daybreak Rotary Club, the food pantry is stocked again with a variety of non-perishable items, such as canned vegetables, dried beans and soups.

“This community is unbelievable. Kind, wonderful, giving,” said Griffin-Spalding Salvation Army Commander Maj. Jack Butler after receiving a check over $2,000 from Daybreak Rotary President Chris Farr and Daybreak Rotary member Amy Dunham, who conceived the idea for the donation, last Thursday at Piggly Wiggly.
