Spalding County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate Monday night’s shooting.

The victim, Robert Hall, 24, of McDonough, was found at the Fast Food Mart, 1251 N. Hill St., but not shot there. According the store owner, Amjad Abuzaididh, “the victim drove to the store to get some help. We called the sheriff for him to get him some help.”

Sheriff Wendell Beam confirmed the shooting did not take place at the store, but near there on Ridgeview Drive. “We found him there (at the store),” Beam said.

Hall had been shot in the lower back, Beam said, was treated at the scene by the Spalding County Emergency Medical Services and transported by helicopter to the Atlanta Medical Center. Griffin Fire Chief Tommy Jones said his department set up a landing zone at Station One on North Hill Street to airlift the patient.
