In private school prep football action Friday night, Faith Christian Academy and Skipstone Academy were in action out of town.

Faith Christian played in Byron at Westside Christian Academy, while Skipstone was in Augusta to face Augusta Prep.

Below is a recap of both contests:

Westside Christian Academy 47, FCA 42:

BYRON — Faith Christian Academy had the lead until middle of the fourth quarter Friday night. The Lions were driving to score with 10 seconds left in fourth quarter when a Westside Christian Academy defender got hurt and had to be taken to hospital.

Faith Christian head coach Jim McClelland Jr., decided to let the final 10 seconds run off the clock and take the loss.

“I felt letting the clock run out was the right thing to do after their guy was taken to the hospital,” said McClelland Jr. “I wanted to set an example for my guys that it’s not always about winning.”

The Lions ended their three-game win streak and to drop to 3-3 overall.

Augusta Prep 46, Skipstone 0:

AUGUSTA — Skipstone lost its third straight game Friday night to end its season at 3-7 overall and 0-4 in the Glory for Christ League East Division.

Augusta Prep finished as the No. 1 seed in the GFC East.
