Next week is the final week of early voting, but voters can also come out this Saturday to vote in the Nov. 6 election.

For those registered to vote, advanced (in-person) voting continues through Nov. 2, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. This Saturday is the state mandated advanced voting Saturday with early voting available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All early voting will be held at 825 Memorial Drive, next to the Elections Office in the Memorial Drive Plaza. Valid photo ID is required when voting in person during the early voting event, said Elections Superintendent Terry Colling.

As of close of polls Wednesday, Colling said, there have been 6,537 early voters and 904 paper absentee ballots issued. Those with paper ballots have to return the completed ballot to the Elections Office no later than Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6, Colling said.

Those going to vote early will also have the opportunity to sign up for the county’s severe weather emergency notification system, FirstCall. Firefighters will be at the Memorial Drive location with information on registration and computers to sign residents up on site.

Colling said through Wednesday night, they had signed up 592 for the service during early voting.

“They will be here through the end of early voting — including this Saturday,” she said.
