A woman was hit by a car around noon Thursday in front of the Spalding County Courthouse.

According Griffin Police Chief Frank Strickland, the woman, Nancy Good, walked in the path of the vehicle.

“She was not in the cross walk, she was jaywalking,” Strickland said, so driver will not be charged.

Strickland said the woman’s head hit the windshield so she was life-flighted to Atlanta.

The female, approximately 61 years old, was transported to Griffin Fire Station 1 and airlifted to an Atlanta hospital, according the Griffin Fire Chief Tommy Jones. “

She was alert and talking on scene,” Jones said.

Griffin Fire-Rescue was dispatched about 12:05 p.m., and arrived on scene about two minutes later. Engine 1 was back in service by 12:43 p.m., according to call logs.
