City of Griffin Public Safety Director and Chief of Police Frank Strickland spoke with city commissioners about the proposal at last Tuesday’s workshop and is scheduled to make a presentation to the county commissioners at the Nov. 5 meeting. Strickland said the training facility has been under consideration since 2006.
Currently city police and county deputies are using the Griffin Gun Club shooting range on Amelia Road for qualifying. “The gun club has been very magnanimous with us, but it is being used more and more often by members.”
