The Gift of Lights returns to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the second straight year, beginning tonight and running nightly through Jan. 6.

Bigger and brighter than ever before, the 1.5-mile long driveable route around the outside of Atlanta Motor Speedway features almost 2 million LED lights. The route features Christmas music by tuning the radio to 90.3 FM.

The Gift of Lights is open every night, rain or shine – including Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Hours are 6 until 9 p.m., Sunday through Thursdays and 5:30 until 10 p.m., on Fridays, Saturdays and holidays.

Admission is $15 per car Monday through Thursday, for six passengers or less, and $20 per car Friday, Saturday and holidays. For passenger vans and buses, cost is $15, plus $1 per passenger, but the maximum height is 13 feet, 6 inches, as part of the route is under the grandstands and there are overhead lights.

The first 15,000 cars through this year receive a complementary gift bag with special savings and coupons for Gift of Light sponsors. Last year more than 50,000 people enjoyed the light displays.

New this year are free photos with Santa provided by Food Depot in the Speedway Gift Shop. Because Santa is so busy this time of year, photos with him will only be available three weekends in December, Friday through Sunday, Dec. 7-9, Dec. 14-16 and Dec. 21-23.

Tickets are available at the race track and discount tickets are available at metro Atlanta Walgreens for $12 for Sunday through Thursday admission and $15 for Friday through Sunday and holiday admission. Discount coupons are also available at area Food Depot locations.
