Griffin (0-3 overall, 0-1 region) remained winless on the season, while Morgan Jones and Mecca Sneed scored 11 each to lead Woodland (4-1, 1-0) as the Lady Wolfpack won its second in a row.
Griffin, which trailed 14-2 at the end of the first quarter, climbed back in the game to trail 25-19 at the half and 32-29 heading into the fourth quarter. The Lady Bears full-court defense — which Griffin never got out of the entire night — pressured Woodland into turnovers.
The Lady Bears managed to get within two of the lead, 34-32, but only made 2 of 6 free throws down the stretch as Griffin also struggled from the floor, making only two three-point baskets in the fourth quarter.
Rounding out Griffin’s leading scores were Ashton Elliott with 8 points and Xandria Hosely with 6.
Griffin continues its season next week at Stockbridge on Dec. 4 and home Dec. 7 against Dutchtown and Dec. 8 against Henry County.
