Griffin Police investigators were well called Thursday to meet with McDonald’s officials at the location on 611 West Taylor St., regarding an internal theft. Following an investigation by GPD Investigators Tony Thomason and Mike Morris into the theft of a deposit from the business, three employees — Sharon Harris, Regina Jackson and Terrance Ellerbee — were charged with one count each of theft by conversion, a felony, due to the amount taken.
The amount taken was not disclosed by police, but the minimum amount for felony theft by conversion charges in Georgia is $500. The sentence for felony theft by conversion conviction is from one to 10 years.
Investigators were able to recover a portion of the missing deposit. Thomason said the investigation continues with additional charges and arrests possible.
