Mr. Arthur Eugene Keebler, 86, of Griffin, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at the Westbury Medical Care Home in Jackson.

Mr. Keebler was born Sept. 2, 1926. He was a member of East Griffin Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edith Keebler.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Keebler; children, Kenneth Keebler and Jan Keebler; stepdaughter, Rachel Evans; stepsons, Roger Tante, Danny Tante and Terry Tante; and grandson, Shawn Keebler. Nieces, nephews and other family also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Arthur Eugene Keebler will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at East Griffin Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Killingsworth will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Edna M. Pate

Mrs. Edna M. Pate, 88, of Griffin, passed away on January 6, 2013 at Brightmoor Nursing Care facility.

Mrs. Pate was born on March 29, 1924 in Griffin, Georgia to the late Lonnie Middlebrooks and the late Opal Ellis Middlebrooks. She is preceded in death by two husbands, Kenneth Preston McCormick and Thomas Pate. She is also preceded in death by a great grandchild, Paul Prescott.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Sharon McCormick; daughter and son-in-law Brenda Slade and Frank Harris; grandchildren, Kelly and Jon Prescott, Ken McCormick, Ben Clark, Dayna and Tony Hagler; great grandchildren, Abigail Stanley, Holly Prescott, Brian Prescott, Brandon James, Jackson Hagler and Shelby Hagler.

Visitation for Mrs. Edna M. Pate will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Wildwood Baptist Church with the Reverend Ed Lynch and Reverend Ralph Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in the Wildwood Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Gaines Wise and Wesley Blalock officiating. Mr. Tillman “Doc” Ellis

Mr. Tillman Grant Doc” Ellis, 83, of Griffin, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Spalding Regional Hospital.

Mr. Ellis was born in Howesville, Indiana on September 26, 1929. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Ellis and Louisa Jane Smith Ellis. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by son, Randy Lee Ellis, grandson Earl Grant Ellis, sister, June Hollingsworth, brothers, Robert Lee Ellis, Hubert Leon Ellis, Norman Ellis and Dale Ellis. He was a retired Master Sargent with the United States Air Force having served as a Hospital Corpman in military hospitals stateside and abroad during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After his retirement from the military he had retired from Piedmont Hospital as the Central Services Director, former bus driver with the Spalding County School System, former driver with the Will Guild Trucking Co. and from Kroger’s in Griffin. Mr. Ellis was a member of the Crestview Baptist Church.

Doc is survived by wife, Frances Ellis; daughter and son-in-law, Bonny and Jim Shockley of Griffin; grandsons, James E. (Jes) Shockley, III and A.J. Shockley of Griffin; brother, Jack Ellis of Sacramento, CA; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Doc Ellis will be Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation a funeral services will be conducted on 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Thomas Hill will officiate. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens with full military honors.

Mrs. Nina Singletary

Mrs. Nina Frances Singletary, 91, of Juliette, formerly of Griffin, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Heritage Healthcare in Forsyth.

Mrs. Singletary was born on March 11, 1921 in Athens, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her parents; Clarence Fulcher and Annie B. Fulcher. Mrs. Singletary is also preceded in death by her husband, Edgar B. Singletary. She was retired from the Rushton Mill and a member of the Wesleyan Church in Griffin. Mrs. Singletary was affectionately known as the “Singing Lady” at Heritage Healthcare.

Survivors include, daughters and sons-in-law, Dolores and Joe Kendrick of Macon, Glenda and Billy Jenkins of Forsyth; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Mattie Fulcher of Stockbridge; 6 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mrs. Nina Singletary will be Tuesday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 9, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the new section of Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Lynn Scott Dickey, 66, of Griffin, passed away on January 7, 2013 at Brightmoor Hospice.

Mrs. Dickey was born on September 25, 1946 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Thomas William Scott and Willie Ruth Scott. Mrs. Dickey was a formerly worked at Lewis Accounting Firm in Valdosta and was a member of the Sun City Peachtree Women’s Golf Association.

Survivors include husband, Jerry Dickey; daughters, Jennifer Lovell Eschenhorst and husband Uwe, daughter, Amy Lovell Baker and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Clint and Cohen Eschenhorst; step daughter, Allison Dickey Stalvey and husband John; sister, Barbara Louise Scott; many cousin.

Visitation for Mrs. Lynn Dickey will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home.
