• I heard that Si was going to be on the New Year’s Eve show on ABC, but then when I turned it on that night, there was some Asian-looking guy on there. That’s false advertising, Jack!
• Alabama showed Notre Dame how football is played in the South. And the Alabama cheerleaders made the Notre Dame cheerleaders look like a bunch of schnauzers.
• I quit watching “Days of our Lives” because they had two boys kissing. This is a disgrace. This is not good for our kids.
• I live on North McDonough Road. The big rigs are tearing this road apart. This is not Highway 155. DOT said Highway 155 turns at Jackson Road, west to Griffin. McDonough Road has signs for no trucks. What are the police doing sitting in a truck watching? The code enforcement follows them to Highway 16 and then comes back. Why no tickets?
• Griffin High School does such a wonderful job with their school website. There is a wealth of information for students and parents. Kudos to the person responsible for that.
• “Santa Claus comes to Big Lots” on the front page of the paper. What small minds we must have. Surely there are more newsworthy items in this area or the world. Just because we live in a small town doesn’t mean we all have a small-town mentality.
• Does every criminal activity have to be printed on the front page of the GDN? How about some positive news on the front and save the gang fights and drugs for the back. Not what I want to see every morning as I read the paper, whether it is happening or not.
• Teams from the SEC usually win because they are from the Bible Belt. God takes care of people who believe in him.
• Our local school system has a spending problem and they refuse to control waste. Therefore, they raised our millage rate so they can continue to waste and spend as they please.

• I agree that Piers Morgan needs to be deported. That liberal commie needs to go back to England where he belongs.
• If they convert the Griffin Country Club to a hunting lodge, then we can start shooting some real birdies.
• You know there are a lot of people who really look down on motorcycle clubs and the people who join them. You are wrong. Just think of all the children in three counties who wouldn’t have had a Christmas if not for these kindhearted, good people. The Southside Riders and the Wind Walkers are two of our clubs in Griffin.
• Beware of lawyers and skunks.
• Next year Honey Boo Boo should be Miss Griffin and Sugar Bear Thompson should be General Griffin.
• The older I get, the less I like people.
• Some of the good high school teams from the South could have beaten Notre Dame. They must have just recently added a football program at that school.
