• If you are considering a move to a community ruled by an HOA, first read the covenants. Then realize that, even if you read the covenants and think you are in compliance, you may still receive violation letters or “cease and desist” notices from your homeowners’ association. HOA covenants can be subjectively enforced.

• President Obama says if he had a son, he would not let him play football. First, Obama wants to take away our guns, then he wants to take away our football. Next, he will not allow us to eat red meat.

• ESPN has been showing the Winter X Games. This is where long-haired “athletes” do tricks on their snowboard. Most of the participants look like they spent their childhood skipping school and eating marijuana-laced brownies. I hope they are doing drug testing at this event.

• In days gone by churches used to take care of needy families. The family was grateful and tried to get back on its own feet. Today Medicaid takes care of needy families. They accept it and continue to accept it as a right.

• I think the government could save bundles if they put a reasonable limit to the length of time families could receive help and stop the indefinite funding. Then people would try to take responsibility for their own lives.

• The SEC. Real football. Real girls.

• At Ryan’s the other night, I saw a man and woman who used to be members of the Griffin Country Club. They looked like they had never been in a buffet restaurant before, and looked confused by the process.

• I heard that the military is going to allow women in combat. I think a woman in the military has a right to do whatever job she wants to, as long as it involves cooking, cleaning and laundry.

• Oh great. Just what we needed on the south side. Section 8 townhouses just past Ingles on Highway 19. A Pike County real estate company is to blame. It’s on their Facebook page. Guess government-subsidized rent money talks when you can’t rent or sell your townhouses? Already at the townhouses you will see graffiti, pit bull dogs chained up, junk cars scattered about, and grass grown up.

• Chief Strickland and the police of Griffin ... thank you for all you do.

• I hate it when people have those stick figures on the back window of their car to show how many kids and pets they have. Who cares how many kids and pets you have?

• I agree that there should be a law making people go to church and to give their tithes. We also don’t need alcohol sales or any store or restaurant to be open on Sunday. It’s an abomination and a sin.

• I saw one of those white and blue vans going down the street yesterday and there was actually one person sitting in there besides the driver. Normally the vans are empty, so how could a fixed-route system “take some of the load off.” Someone is really working hard to justify their job, or doesn’t have much to do.

• A “transit feasibility study” to determine if a fixed-route bus system is needed in Griffin and Spalding County? Is this actually being proposed or is someone making a joke?

If the government would make young men take care and support their children, then the mother would not need to live off the government. The government is not responsible to raise your kids, you are. If you can't afford to have kids, then you can get birth control.

Hey folks did you see all the crack heads on the news in Atlanta about the school shooting.
