Mr. Damon “Ray” Adams, 64, of Williamson, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Dekalb Medical Center.
Mr. Adams was born in Evansville, Indiana on January 16, 1949. He is preceded in death by his father, Jewett Damon Adams; sister, Dawn King. Mr. Adams was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam and a member of Open Range Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Martin Adams; 5 children, Nikki Adams, Donna “Dee Dee” Adams, Michelle Blackmon, Kenneth Eagle, Ashley Donehoo; 9 grandchildren; mother, Lillian Burkhead Chaney; sisters, Lori Cross, Carolyn Campbell, Suzanne Barbour; brother, Robby Chaney.
Funeral services for Mr. Damon Ray Adams will be conducted Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service.

Bertha Steele Wesley
May 30, 1923—Feb. 7, 2013
Bertha Ve Steele Wesley, 89, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Brightmoor Nursing Home.
Bertha Wesley was born to the late Carl Cleophus Steele and Susie Eula Kennedy Steele on May 30, 1923 in Spalding County. She is preceded in death by her husband William W. Wesley, Jr., son Carl Ricky Wesley and brothers William David Steele and Thomas Edison Steele.
Bertha never worked outside the home as she raised her three children. She served her family, church and community and was one of the first to volunteer to do whatever was needed. She was very talented in growing flowers and making beautiful floral arrangements for the home, church or special events. She was an excellent pastry chef and an accomplished seamstress. Bertha was a life-long member, teacher and leader at County Line United Methodist Church up until health issues restricted her involvement. She was very active in the formation of the Birdie Community Club in 1949. The Clubhouse continues to meet monthly to this day. One of the greatest joys of Bertha’s life was planning for a week of camp meeting at Mt. Zion Camp Ground in the sawdust floor cabin, better known as the tent. Guests were always welcome for a meal or a visit for some of her sweet delicacies.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law William Keith and Penny Wesley of Griffin, her daughter and son-in-law Beth W. and Greg Whitehurst of Griffin, daughter-in-law Janet Childs Wesley of McDonough, eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, and sister Mary S. Johnson of Hampton, sister-in-law Mary Frances Griffin, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Bertha Wesley will be on Saturday February 9, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to the hour of service. Reverend Gene Walton and Reverend Ed Swehla will officiate. Interment will follow in the County Line United Methodist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to County Line United Methodist Church, 416 County Line Church Rd., Griffin, GA 30223 in memory of Bertha Wesley.

Mrs. Allie Mae Dollar Tate, 82, of Griffin, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Brightmoor Hospice.
Mrs. Tate was born in Griffin on May 29, 1930, to the late Prince Dollar and the late Francis Weldon Dollar. Mrs. Tate had worked for many years at American Mills and was a member of Center Pointe Church.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Linda Tate of Milner, Michael and Evelyn Tate of Marietta, Ga.; grandchildren, Stephanie Tate, Alec and Amy Tate, Shannon and Jim Custer; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Bennie Phillips of Griffin.
Funeral services for Mrs. Allie Tate will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Pastor Tracy Stone and grandson, the Rev. Alec Tate, will officiate. Evelyn Grace Durden Story, 92, of Zebulon, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, in Christian Ministries Hospice.
Mrs. Story was born Sept. 11, 1920, in Social Circle, Ga., to the late Harvey Lee and Annie Mae Porter Durden. She was a retired seamstress from William Carter Company. Mrs. Story was a member of Zebulon United Methodist Church, where she was a longtime Sunday school teacher and active member of WMU.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Story, as well as a son, Wendell Homer Story.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Machandra Story of Zebulon; grandchildren, Angela McSpadden and husband, Ryan of Zebulon and Dara Story, also of Zebulon; great-grandchildren, Jack, Luke and Kate McSpadden.
Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Story will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, in the sanctuary of Zebulon United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
