The first public hearing will be Tuesday at 6 p.m. at City Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to get input from the public on what the city needs in the comprehensive plan, which Planning and Development Director Taurus Freeman said is “the city’s blue print for how we want to grow for the next 20 years.”
Three Rivers Regional Commissionplanner Aronda Smith is helping the city with the plan, which has to be done every five years to maintain qualified city status for state and federal loans and grants. Smith said the goal is to get a good working plan for next 20 years.
