Linda Kaye Knight, 57, of Griffin, Ga., and formerly of Moultrie, died Friday, March 8, 2013, at the home of her sister in Atlanta.
Graveside rites will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Funston Cemetery, Funston, Ga., with the Rev. Michael Farmer officiating.
Casketbearers will be Steve Lazarus, Jason Knight, Rick Stepat, Harrison Stepat, Michael Stepat, Andrew Stepat and Ansley Ulm.
Born March 14, 1955, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late George W. Knight and Carolyn McLendon Knight. She was a Draftsman and held a B.S. degree in both criminal justice and teaching. She was employed with an architectural firm, and then was associated with the Juvenile Court System of Georgia for many years. She was associated with the Fulton, Spalding and Clayton County School System for 15 years, most recently teaching at B.C. Hanie Elementary School. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Atlanta and also attended Rock Springs Church in Milner, Ga., and New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Ga. She was an avid gardener, and was well known in Griffin for being an avid walker and bicyclist.
Survivors include two sisters, Karen Knight Huff of Atlanta and Ellen Knight Stepat and husband Rick of Woodstock, Ga.; two brothers, Allen Knight and wife Claudette of San Ramon, Calif., and Kenneth Knight of Duluth, Ga.; two nieces; six nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Cobb Funeral Chapel in Moultrie.

Mr. Grant Whitfield, 61, of Griffin, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Spalding Regional Hospital.
Mr. Whitfield was born March 25, 1951, to the late Robert Lee Wood and the late Mary Johnson Gay. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a truck driver.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Gerald Baggs of Griffin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura and Saad Al-sheikh of Saudi Arabia, Donna and Gary Sparrow of Conley, Stacey Crawford of Molena; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Shanda Wood of Griffin; aunts and uncles, Mike and Brenda Lynch of Griffin, Linda Carr of Griffin and James Johnson of Amarillo, Texas. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A private family service will be held at a later date in Ludowici, Ga.

Mrs. Betty Sue Davis Cone, 84, of Jackson, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013, at Westbury Medical Care Home.
Betty was born June 1, 1928, in Spalding County to the late A.W. “Doc” Davis and the late Bessie Pierce Davis. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church and Loyalty Sunday School Class. Betty was a retired L.P.N. from Spalding Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Cone, and sister, Annette Davis Crowder Fletcher.
Betty is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Maureen and Rudy Mangham, of Jackson, Rebecca and Wayne Hollingsworth, of Griffin; grandchildren, Ken and Kim Hollingsworth, Marty Mangham, Bryan and Seberna Hollingsworth, Rod and Hope Mangham; great-grandchildren, Ben Hollingsworth, Kennedy Hollingsworth, Brantley Hollingsworth, Madison Mangham, and Mason Mangham; and several nieces, nephews and cousins with whom she was very close.
Funeral services for Betty Cone will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Argin Floyd, Rudy Mangham and the Rev. Jay Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Griffin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Ms. Marilyn Williams Phillips, 54, of Griffin, passed away March 7, 2013, at Emory Hospital in Atlanta.
She was a 1976 graduate of Pike County High School. She enjoyed reading, playing darts and she loved small children. She was an avid fan of X-tra, a local band. Marilyn was a “people person” who loved her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Hoyt “Willie” Williams, her granddaughter, Serahni Arayla Harper-Phillips, brother, Bill Calvert, and grandparents, Harold and Maude Henderson and Tommy and Mary Emma Williams.
She is survived by her son, James Brandon Phillips (Blair) of Columbus; granddaughter, Skyleigh Harper-Phillips; mother, Betty Williams Calvert of Griffin; brothers and sisters, Danny Williams (Joette) of Thomaston, Pam Williams of Griffin, Tim Calvert (Kathy) of Zebulon, Martha Jean Calvert Coffey and Cheryl Calvert McGinnis (Hal) of Jonesboro; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit the family from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10 at Mount Gilead Baptist Church with the Rev. Harvey Wilson and the Rev. Fred Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses.

Mrs. Shirley Deschenes, 70, of Dallas, Ga., passed away at Spalding Regional Hospital Tuesday, March 5, 2013.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Deschenes, and her four children, Keith, Kenneth, Kip Hollis, and Kelly Philips. She has 12 grandchildren and 14-great-grandchildren.
