Spalding tennis rolls past Eagle’s Landing

The Spalding High Jaguars and Lady Jaguars tennis teams dispatched of the Eagle’s Landing tennis teams Wednesday afternoon on a windy day at SHS.

The Jags won 5-0 and the Lady Jags won 3-2 in a Region 4-AAAA makeup match from an earlier rainout.

Brett Piland (8-2), Colby Willis (8-0) and James Dunaway all won their singles matches. Spalding’s No. 1 doubles team of Daniel Blake and Andrew Winter won their match 8-0 and Benjamin Parker and Barrett Lavender won their No. 2 doubles match to complete the scoring for the Jags.

On the girls side, No. 2 singles player McKenzie Dallas (8-1) and No. 3 singles player Hayley Bair won their respective matches, while the No. 1 doubles tandem of Margaret Copeland and Garrett Mixon won their match.

Spalding travels to face Woodland-Stockbridge today before hosting crosstown rival Griffin High on Friday afternoon.
