Griffin NAACP hosts public meeting

The Griffin Branch NAACP will host the first of a series of public meetings from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 9, at City Hall. The guests will be the Griffin Police Department and the administrative staff of the city of Griffin. The community is invited to attend and bring questions and issues of concern.

Some of the predetermined issues for discussion include:

— Pinetree community sewer service

— Excessive police force

— Efficiency of customer service

— Diversity hiring and training

— Community involvement of law enforcement

—Complaints received by the police department

The overall goal is to inform and involve the citizenry of Griffin and Spalding County.
