Youth Football Tournament finals set

The SCPRD Youth Football League Tournament finals are set in all three divisions for Saturday at Volunteer Park in Griffin.

The Spalding County Bulldogs will take on the Spalding County Raiders in the Junior Division (11-12 year olds) finals beginning at 6 p.m.

The Spalding county Steelers will take on the Spalding County Saints in the Pee Wee Division (9-10 year olds) beginning at 4 p.m.

And the Spalding County Falcons will take on the Spalding County Packers in the Mite Division (7-8-year-olds) finals beginning at 2 p.m.

SATURDAY

Junior Division

Tournament Semifinals

n Spalding County Bulldogs 25, Pike County Pirates 0: Jabril Reid and Justin Gordon scored a pair of touchdowns each to lead the Bulldogs past the Pirates and into the finals.

Randall Hunt added an extra point to further the Bulldogs’ cause.

n Spalding County Raiders 21, Jasper County Hurricanes 12: Moses Mayes, Quindarius Mayes and Camerson Johnson scored a touchdown each to lead the Raiders past the Hurricanes and into the finals.

Mayes added an extra point run and Otavious Williams kicked an extra point to further the Raiders’ cause.

Joshua Hendricks and Peter Lawson each scored a touchdown to lead the Hurricanes.

Pee Wee Division

Tournament Semifinals

n Spalding County Steelers 3, Spalding County Chargers 0: Anforne Stroud’s 24-yard field goal in the fourth quarter lifted his team past the Chargers and into the finals.

n Spalding County Saints 18, Jasper County Hurricanes 14: Emari Bruce scored two touchdowns and Nicholas Cochran added another touchdown to lead the Saints past the Hurricanes and to the finals in a game where the decisive score came in the fourth quarter.

Lane Thomas scored two touchdowns and Quinton Standifer kicked an extra point to lead the Hurricanes, which led 14-12 at the half.

Mite Division

Tournament Semifinals

n Spalding County Packers 13, Jasper County Hurricanes 0: Lamont Calloway and Fredrick Perkins each scored a touchdown to lead the Packers past the Hurricanes and into the finals.

Calloway added an extra point to further his team’s cause in a game that was scoreless heading into the fourth quarter.

n Spalding County Falcons 30, Spalding Red Raiders 0: Davis Daniel scored a pair of touchdowns and Taivon Pitts and Kamerson Weems added one each to lead the Falcons past the Red Raiders and into the finals.

Tylan Mortan kicked three extra points to further the Falcons’ cause.
