Mr. Everett Cleveland “Ed” Griffin, 89, of Williamson, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008.

Mr. Griffin was born in Randolph County, Ala., on June 21, 1918, to the late Carless Griffin and the late Arrie Heard Griffin. He was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Teresa Pittman Griffin. Mr. Griffin was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during World War II. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Griffin was the owner and operator of G&H Glass Company.

Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife of 52 years, Martha B. Griffin; sons and daughters-in-law, Jabo and Tam Griffin, Cleve Griffin, Rick and Penny Griffin, Johnny and Kim Griffin, and Wade and Ivey Griffin; grandchildren, Shane Griffin, Stephanie Phillips, Melinda Chambers, Paul Griffin, Curt Griffin, B.J. Griffin, Tyler Griffin, Kip Wise, Crissy Griffin, Keaton Wise, Emily Griffin, and John Griffin; four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sara Dozier, Bessie Scharnitzky, Bobbie Chance, and Joyce Wengler; brother-in-law, Bruce Broxton; several nieces and nephews; and special cousin, Punk Carter.

Funeral services for Mr. Ed Griffin will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Dr. Steve Stewart and the Rev. Jack Pickle will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens.
