The Griffin Police Department is seeking help from the community in locating Prentice Driver, the last offender being sought in connection with a recently concluded multi-jurisdictional drug trafficking investigation which spanned almost one year, and involved officers from the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Atlanta Area High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force, the Upson County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force and the Flint Circuit Drug Task Force, from Henry County.

The undercover investigation resulted in the indictment of 34 individuals on a wide variety of drug-related charges, all revolving around McDonough resident Craig Woods, believed by law enforcement authorities to be the head of a major drug distribution operation in the Griffin-Spalding County area, According to Griffin Police Department Cpl. Bryan Clanton, speaking on behalf of the office of the chief of police, Driver is wanted for conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to distribute, conspiracy to possess marijuana with intent to distribute, conspiracy to traffic cocaine, conspiracy to traffic marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine.

“He (Driver) is in his mid to late twenties and is possibly in the Spalding, Clayton or Fulton County area,” Clanton said. “Citizens should be concerned, due to his involvement in the drug trafficking trade and his violent behavior in the past. If anyone knows of his location, they should contact Lt. Mike Richardson of the Griffin Police Department at 770-229-6450, extension 509.”
