Mr. Goolsby was born in Knox County, Tenn., on May 16, 1952, to Geraldine Bohanan Dixon and the late Bill Edwards. He was a machinist and member of the Westlawn Baptist Church in Knoxville.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Geraldine and Hiram Dixon of Griffin; sister, Connie Jean Moody of Griffin; brothers, Ricky Goolsby of Indiana, and Steven Osborne of Griffin; stepbrother, Randy Dixon; stepsister, Beth Akin of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for James Michael Goolsby will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. The Rev. Gene Walton will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
