A man was taken to the Atlanta Medical Center by helicopter after a two-car wreck on Lyndon Avenue Saturday afternoon. According to Griffin Police Department Cpl. Brian Jones, Avery Strickland Jr. and his passenger Don Lacount were traveling westbound on Lyndon Avenue. Another vehicle, driven by Lisa Dennis, did not yield at the intersection. She struck Strickland’s vehicle at 4:37 p.m., hurling it in the air. The struck vehicle came to rest on its left side.
Dennis will be charged with failing to yield at an intersection. Griffin Fire-Rescue Capt. Eddie Eubanks said Lacount was ejected from the vehicle and suffered head trauma, hence the need for a Life Flight.
“He’s in stable condition right now,” he said. “He’s alert.”
A landing zone was set up at the old Wal-Mart Shopping Center. The helicopter carried Lacount away at just after 5:30 p.m.
