MARIETTA, Ga. - Entries are now being accepted for the 44th annual Georgia Junior Championship, which will take place June 22-24 at Sea Island Golf Club-Retreat Course in St. Simons Island.
The event is open to male amateur golfers between the ages of 14-17 as of June 22, who are Georgia residents and GSGA members or dependents of GSGA members.
The format of the event is 54 holes of stroke play with the field being cut to the low 70 and ties after 36 holes. The top eight finishers in the championship will be invited to represent the Peach State in the annual Georgia-South Carolina Junior Challenge Match.
Qualified players must enter online at the GSGA website (www.gsga.org) by clicking the Online Registration quick link. A tournament FAQ page is also available via download as a PDF file through the GSGA website.
The deadline for entries is Wednesday, May 27 at 5:00 p.m.

GRIFFIN GATORS REGISTRATION: The Griffin Gators Swim and dive team is conducting registration. Ages 4 and up are encouraged to join us. Come and spend your summer swimming with old and new friends. SUMMER TENNIS CLINIC: Lauren Grogan will be conducting a summer tennis clinic at City Park from June 1-5. Fee is $50 for the week.
Ages 10-under will receive instruction from 9-10 a.m., while ages 11-14 will receive instruction from 10-11 a.m., and those 15 and older will receiver instruction from 11 a.m., until noon.
Private lessons will also be available from May 11 through the middle of August. Grogan, who came up playing at Spalding High, currently plays at Georgia Southwestern.
