Five Griffin Police Department officers have been placed on administrative leave with pay and will have disciplinary hearings with Griffin Police Chief Frank Strickland next week.
An internal investigation of the matter is ongoing, according to a GPD press release.
The names of the officers have not been released.
The officers are not alleged to have committed any criminal acts, and an allegation that they were gambling on duty is false, the release states.
The case does not involve any illegal interaction between the officers and citizens, the release said.
No further information was available at press time.
