Deputies with the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office on Friday at approximately 10:45 a.m. arrested 30-year-old Cleater Wade Bailey and 21-year-old Ashley Nicole Kretlow, both of Conyers, on drug-related charges following a route traffic stop on I-75.

Authorities say upon further investigation upon the traffic stop, deputies discovered approximately 50 grams of methamphetamine cleverly concealed inside the passenger’s door.

The LCSO said the methamphetamine discovered in the vehicle weighing 50 grams equals about two pounds of the drug and has a street value of approximately $7,500.00.

Bailey and Kretlow were subsequently arrested for trafficking methamphetamine.

Trafficking methamphetamine in this amount carries a statutory sentence of a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of ten years and a fine of $200,000.

Sheriff Larry Waller said, “This is the type of drug arrest that will take them off the street.”

28 grams per ounce. 16 ounces in a pound. Only in Lamar County does 50 grams = 2 pounds!
