JONESBORO, Ga. — The Griffin High varsity basketball teams split an early-evening doubleheader Saturday at Jonesboro, the Lady Bears winning 58-55 on a shot by Jahmiya Clemons at the buzzer and the Bears falling 57-42.
The Lady Bears (4-4 overall, 3-4 Region 4-AAAA) were coming off a 37-25 loss the night before at home to Stockbridge. Aneesah Head scored 12 points and Otisha Perkins added 6 points to lead GHS in that game. Clemons scored 16 points and Head added 13 points and 12 rebounds in the win against Jonesboro.
Jahmad Clemons scored 11 points to lead the Bears (3-13, 1-6) Saturday. A day earlier, Denarius Appling scored 16 to pace the Bears in a 72-59 loss to Stockbridge.
