Mr. William K. “Bill” Gordy, 58, of Griffin, passed away on Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at Spalding Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Gordy was born in Griffin on Feb. 22, 1952, to the late Alton E. Gordy Sr. and the late Harriett Vaughn Gordy. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Gordy is survived by his wife, Mildred Tucker Gordy; stepchildren, John Ross, Jason Ross and Daniel Ross; step-grandchildren, Mason Alan Ross, Colton Lane Ross, Daniel Allen Ross, Kelsey Barnes, Brittney Rogers, Breanna Rogers, Ryan Barnes and Austin Blake Ross; brother and sister-in-law, Alton E. Jr. and B. Gordy; niece and her husband, Heather and Clay Kersting; great-niece, Hope Gordy; and great-nephew, Chase Kersting.

Funeral services for Mr. Bill Gordy will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends visited the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
