The Spalding High girls track and field team actually jumped up a spot in the Class AAA State Track and Field Meet last weekend.

According to the GHSA Web site, the Lady Jags actually finished fifth out of 32 teams, not sixth as was originally reported.

“I told the girls that I wanted them to finish in the top 10, but to actually finish in the top 5 is tremendous,” said Lady Jags head coach Dolores Owen. “That’s a big feat to do with only four girls competing,”

Spalding scored a school-record 29 points last weekend.
