Mr. Strickland was born in Edison, Ga., on Aug. 6, 1939, to the late Aubrey Bennett Strickland and the late Cleone Clements Strickland. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a 1966 graduate of the University of Georgia, College of Pharmacy. Mr. Strickland was a former owner and operator of Strickland’s Pharmacy.
Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife, Gail Wilson Strickland; children, Dennis Jr. and Ruth Strickland of Jonesboro, Ga., Heather S. and Mitch Graul of Opelika, Ala.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ben and Diane Strickland of Edison, Ga., Jim and Martha Strickland of Griffin, Ga., and Kenneth and Helen Strickland of Tifton, Ga.; several nieces and nephews; and many cherished friends.
Memorial services for Mr. Dennis Strickland will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010, in the Chapel of the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Dr. Ira Slade will officiate. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Nature Conservancy, The Salvation Army, or the In Christ Mission in memory of Mr. Dennis Strickland.
